Obituary: Irene Sechler

Irene M. Sechler passed away peacefully at Hill House in Riverside on April 14. She was 100 years old. She was born in Hampshire, England living in London during World War II. She was predeceased by her husband Willard Bradley Sechler, whom she met in Cambridge in 1944 while he was stationed there with the American Forces before being shipped to France. She knew him for six weeks and then 2 years after the war she emigrated and joined him in Philadelphia where they were married. read more...

Obituary: Gerald Puschel

Gerald W. Puschel passed away at his home in Greenwich, CT on Feb. 28. His family was at his side. Gerry died from complications of Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare brain disorder. He was the son of Walter and Francoise Puschel. He was born in Montclair, NJ December 1941 and grew up in Riverside, CT attending Riverside School and Brunswick School. He attended St. Lawrence University and the then Philadelphia School of Textiles. He later received an MBA from Rutgers University. read more...

Riverside School Performs ‘Frozen’ Musical

On January 17 and January 18, Riverside School put on its annual school musical for its student and parent community. This year’s production was “Frozen” the musical fantasy/comedy story based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen.” Produced in 2013 by Walt Disney, “Frozen” tells the story of a princess named Anna, and her sister Elsa who becomes queen. read more...
