Flinn Gallery Opens ‘Animal Attraction’ Exhibition

The Flinn Gallery presents ‘Heidi Johnson, Animal Attraction’ opening November 5 for in-person and virtual viewing. The animal species and objects of Heidi Johnson’s surreal worlds inhabit large, vivid canvases. Johnson entertains the viewer by painting domesticated pets alongside exotic animal species while contrasting 17thC Dutch Still Life flowers with modern artists’ abstract works. Greenwich Reform, Stamford JCC Opening New Preschool

Greenwich Reform Synagogue and the Stamford JCC announce the opening of their new preschool. The school, operated by the JCC at the brand new-state-of-the-art Cos Cob synagogue, will be open in September for the 2019-2020 school year. Utilizing a developmentally-appropriate, play-based curriculum for children ages two to five, the school will recognize and celebrate individual differences and the unique pace at which each child learns. JCC CEO Marshall Kurland shared, “The JCC and GRS have complimentary missions, each with a stated goal of building a positive and supportive community.  We recognize the critical role our children, the future leaders of our community, play in building a better future and we are committed in investing together today for a better tomorrow.” read more...

Beach Season Opens at Greenwich Point, Byram Beach

In a cooperative effort with the Greenwich Department of Health, the Department of Parks and Recreation will begin the summer beach season with the official opening of Greenwich Point and Byram Beach on Saturday, May 26 and will run through Sept. 3. The opening of the pools and concession at Byram Park is pending finishing touches and a Certificate of Occupancy and will be announced separately. read more...
