Greenwich Point Ornament Photo Contest is Underway

The Friends of Greenwich Point has kicked off its 3rd annual Holiday Ornament Photo Contest. This year, they are looking for a beautiful photo of a location that makes you think of the Point that can serve as the template for their 2020 hand-painted holiday ornament. Other images in the past have included the bridge in winter, a sunset on the beach with the Innis Arden Cottage, the Chimes Building, the Old Greenwich Yacht Club with the boat racks, the lifeguard chair on the beach and Eagle Pond. ‘Wildlife in Winter’ Event at Innis Arden Cottage

The Friends of Greenwich Point invites the community to join Stamford Museum & Nature Center on Sunday, Dec. 15 to uncover how different types of animals, such as reptiles, birds and mammals, adapt to survive the winter freeze, and how some migrate to beat the cold. GCOG Volunteers Decorate Old Greenwich Village

On December 3, The Garden Club of Old Greenwich volunteers gathered to decorate the village of Old Greenwich for the holidays. After weeks of preparation making ornaments, tying bows and gathering greens, the enthusiastic group spent a bright and brisk morning adorning the flower pots and window boxes in Old Greenwich Village with holiday decorations. read more...

Greenwich Point Ornaments are Here

Help support the Friends of Greenwich Point by purchasing a hand-painted ornament. The 2019 ornament, seventh in their annual Greenwich Point Ornament Series, features the Innis Arden Cottage in the spring. The public can stop by the Old Greenwich Farmer’s Market through November from 1 to 4 p.m. to make a purchase. They can also purchase 2019 ornaments online here (online orders can be picked up at the OG Farmer’s Market). Ornaments are $20 each and come packaged in a festive silk box ready for gift giving. read more...
