Witherell to Host Dementia Information Sessions

Caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s can be a stressful and challenging experience. To meet the rising demand for education and support tools, and to help drive the Town of Greenwich’s goal to receive formal designation as a “Dementia-Friendly” place, The Nathaniel Witherell will host two one-hour “Dementia Friends” information sessions, one on Thursday, May 16 and the other on Thursday, June 20, both from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The sessions will be led by Lori Contadino of the Greenwich Commission on Aging. Friends of Nathaniel Witherell Board of Directors New Members

David Ormsby, Chairman of the Friends of Nathaniel Witherell, Inc., announced that Riverside resident Pat McDonald, Greenwich resident, Caralyn Stevens and Cos Cob resident, Linda Ziac have been elected to the Friends of Nathaniel Witherell Board of Directors. Nathaniel Witherell Benefit Honors Dr. Francis X. Walsh

The Friends of Nathaniel Witherell brought together Greenwich community leaders and citizens to honor Dr. Francis X. Walsh, a 45-year member of the Witherell’s medical team and its current Medical Director, at a special dinner held on Nov. 1 at Greenwich Country Club. The sold-out event raised funds to create essential quality of life programs for Greenwich senior citizens that live at the Nathaniel Witherell, the only Town-owned and operated skilled nursing facility in Connecticut. Town of Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei was on hand to present Dr. Walsh with a special proclamation recognizing his service to the Witherell. read more...
