‘Spring Fling’ Raises Funds for Kids in Crisis

Kids in Crisis held its annual benefit March 3, at the Greenwich Country Club. “Spring Fling: An Evening in Wonderland” featured a whimsical Alice in Wonderland theme, underscoring the belief that “every childhood should be magical!” Guests enjoyed exquisite food, unique live and silent auctions, and exciting entertainment. A Holiday Gift for Kids in Crisis

Fundraising activities during the 8th Annual Greenwich Reindeer Festival & Santa’s Village and the 8th Annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend presented by Whole Foods Market resulted in a donation of over $8,000 for Kids in Crisis. Katie Kilroy Smiley of Kids in Crisis visited Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses in Greenwich this week to accept the money from Sam Bridge owners Mary Jo Bridge Palmer, Sam and Ron Bridge and Tammi Ketler of TMK Sports & Entertainment, producer of the holiday events. read more...

Splurge hosts snack collection for Kids in Crisis

Now through Sept. 30, in preparation for back to school, Splurge Unique Gifts, Home Décor and Jewelry is collecting healthy snacks for children staying at Kids in Crisis to enjoy during and after school. Splurge owner, Sonia Sotire Malloy is happy to provide a convenient downtown location for members of the community to donate individually packaged, healthy, shelf-stable snacks for the residents at Kids in Crisis, the Cos Cob-based emergency shelter and community resource. Some examples of the types of snacks needed include individually packaged nuts, dried fruit, granola bars, crackers, applesauce, fruit cups, popcorn, pretzels and low sugar cookies. read more...

KIC receives funding from The Community Fund of Darien

Kids in Crisis, the area’s only free, round-the-clock crisis counseling center and emergency shelter, announced that it has received a $14,250 competitive grant from the Community Fund of Darien to fund the operation of the Agency’s Safe Haven for Kids program, which provides comprehensive counseling and emergency shelter for Fairfield County children and teens. read more...
