COVID-19 Community Relief Fund Issues Grant to Family Centers

The Greenwich United Way’s Greenwich COVID-19 Community Relief Fund issued a $50,000 grant to Family Centers to support the organization’s Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions (ECAGS) program. The funds will help the 125 families that are Early Care and Education (ECE) and Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions Greenwich Parents as Teachers (GPAT) participants. read more...

Cos Cob’s The Undies Project Receives Grant

Cos Cob-based non-profit organization The Undies Project recently received a $2,500 grant from Stamford Rotary Trust Fund for their Underwriting Undies Community Program to benefit Pacific House, Stamford. The mission of The Undies Project is to provide new underwear to men, women and children in need to improve their lives. Pacific House is one of the 21 agencies in Lower Fairfield and Westchester Counties that The Undies Project supports by supplying new underwear. read more...

River House Receives Grant

River House Adult Day Center received a $54,000 grant from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation to fund meals. “River House offers so many benefits to members that the meal program is often overlooked. Daily access to a nutritious lunch and snacks is critical to the health, happiness, and longevity of our members,” said Executive Director, Donna Spellman, MS. “We are enormously grateful to the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation for recognizing the need and impact of the program.” read more...

United Way Grants GADC with $18,000 for Transportation Program

The Greenwich United Way (GUW) Board of Directors approved a second grant this year for River House Adult Day Center, totaling $18,000The grant is an extension through the Greenwich United Way Community Investment Process (CIP) and was awarded on June 28. The Extension Grant will be used to support the Door-to-Door Transportation program which will offset the costs associated with transportation for Greenwich-based clients. The distribution of funds for this program reflects the recommendations of the volunteers who participated in the 2017-2018 Community Investment Process and the Greenwich United Way Grants Committee. read more...
