Greenwich Historical Society Announces STEAP Grant

Greenwich Historical Society announced that it has received a $389,800 STEAP (Small Town Economic Assistance Program) grant from the State of Connecticut to assist with the completion of site improvements and walkways for the Greenwich Historical Society’s expanded campus at its Bush-Holley House site. The program funds economic development, community conservation and quality-of-life capital projects because “preserving the historical integrity and beauty of our small towns is vital to our economy and quality of life,” according to the Office of Policy and Management. read more...

Preservation Trust to Discuss NEC Future Announcement

The Greenwich Preservation Trust will be hosting an informational meeting, on Wednesday, July 26, for the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation on the recent NEC Future announcement by the Federal Railroad Administration on plans to expand and construct high-speed rail infrastructure through Fairfield County. These plans include a new rail corridor and right of way between New Rochelle and Greens Farms which poses extraordinary and significant impacts to economic, historic, and environmental resources across region. read more...
