Mothers for Others Delivers 18,000 Diapers

Greenwich’s Mother for Others (MFO), the largest independent diaper bank in lower Fairfield County, has emptied its shelves of diapers and transferred them to Family Centers and Neighbor to Neighbor for distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally, clients come in person once a month to the MFO distribution room to receive a week’s supply of diapers, wipes, and gently used baby equipment. In light of the State mandate to minimize social interaction, MFO needed to temporarily adapt its distribution process. On Tuesday, March 17, MFO leadership reached out to the Greenwich Department of Human Services, Family Centers and the Greenwich United Way to discuss options. By 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, MFO volunteers had completed the transfer of over 18,000 diapers to Family Centers and Neighbor to Neighbor.
