The Horseshoe Crab Celebration with the Conservation Commission and Friends of Greenwich Point

The Conservation Commission as well as Friends of Greenwich Point collaborated to host a Horseshoe Crab Celebration on Saturday, June 17 from 12 noon - 1:30 pm around the Greenwich Point Yacht Club area. The celebration was intended to educate citizens about horseshoe crabs and their importance within the Long Island Sound. It is important to learn about this pre-historic crab, as recent evidence from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission reported that the mid-Atlantic population of the horseshoe crab is declining.
