Abilis Announces Spring for Abilis Gala

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, will hold its “Spring for Abilis” Gala event on Saturday, May 6 at 7 p.m., at The Tamarack Country Club. The Gala is part of Abilis’ 65th anniversary year celebration and will include a special champagne reception for higher level donors, sponsors, table hosts, and community leaders at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes cocktails, dinner and dancing, as well as silent and live auctions. Auction items include a one-week Nantucket escape at a private residence, a catered dinner for 12, and a New York Islanders ice hockey package for six in the owner’s suite with dinner, meet and greets, and Zamboni rides for kids. Abilis Holds Annual Meeting Celebrating 65th Anniversary

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 1 West Putnam Ave. The annual meeting marks a special milestone of Abilis’ 65 years of service to the community. Abilis Holds Speaker Series For Families With Special Needs

Abilis, the Greenwich-based non-profit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, is pleased to announce its Spring Speaker Series. The Abilis speaker series are available free-of-charge to parents, caregivers, grandparents, and educators who are caring for or working with children. Seats are limited and registration is required. YMCA, Abilis to Host Autism Advocate

The YMCA of Greenwich and Abilis will welcome guest speaker Marguerite Elisofon on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 2:30 to 5 p.m., to discuss her memoir, My Picture Perfect Family: What Happens When One Twin Has Autism. In this inspiring book, Marguerite chronicles her lifelong dedication to helping her twin daughter, Samantha, who was diagnosed as a toddler. She reveals how autism not only affects one person, but the whole family. Marguerite will discuss her experiences and what she has learned over the past 25 years, as she has gone through the highs and lows of having a family member living on the spectrum. read more...
