Student Cartoonists Sell Calendar to Support Abilis

Greenwich cartooning publishers, AJ inc., are hosting their first fundraiser entitled “Cartoons for a Cause: Abilis Edition,” to raise money for the community at Abilis. The calendar, which is selling for $15 and is sponsored by the Zarrilli family, will be sold on Dec. 18 in two locations: Western Middle School, 1 Western Junior Hwy., and Glenville School, 33 Riversville Rd. To promote the sale of the calendar, a competition will be held to see which founding member of AJ inc. can sell 50 calendars first. The founders of AJ inc. include Angela Zarrilli who attends Western, and Jacklyn Zarrilli who attends Glenville. Land Trust Opens its Greenhouse to Abilis Gardeners

The renovation of the Abilis greenhouse has provided the Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) with a unique opportunity to strengthen a community partnership with Abilis, an organization that advances abilities for people with special needs. This fall, GLT opened its home to a special group of volunteers who worked on their microgreen and specialty herb business, as well as lent a helping hand with a variety of other gardening projects. read more...

Abilis Raises Over $400,000 at Anniversary Gala

Abilis, a non-profit organization that provides services and supports for over 700 individuals with special needs and their families, announced that its “Spring for Abilis Gala,” held May 6 at the Tamarack Country Club, raised over $400,000. More than 200 guests participated in the event held to raise awareness of Abilis and critical funding for its wide range of programs designed to help individuals of all ages with special needs achieve their potential and lead fulfilling lives. read more...

Abilis Announces Spring for Abilis Gala

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, will hold its “Spring for Abilis” Gala event on Saturday, May 6 at 7 p.m., at The Tamarack Country Club. The Gala is part of Abilis’ 65th anniversary year celebration and will include a special champagne reception for higher level donors, sponsors, table hosts, and community leaders at 6:30 p.m. The evening includes cocktails, dinner and dancing, as well as silent and live auctions. Auction items include a one-week Nantucket escape at a private residence, a catered dinner for 12, and a New York Islanders ice hockey package for six in the owner’s suite with dinner, meet and greets, and Zamboni rides for kids. Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 1 West Putnam Ave. The annual meeting marks a special milestone of Abilis’ 65 years of service to the community. Abilis, the Greenwich-based non-profit organization that provides services and supports for individuals with special needs and their families, is pleased to announce its Spring Speaker Series.
