Abilis, Greenwich Hospital Offer Project SEARCH Job Fair

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and support to more than 700 individuals with special needs and their families, in partnership with Greenwich Hospital, is holding a Project SEARCH Internship Information Session and Job Fair for young adults with special needs and disabilities. The Job Fair will be held Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m., at Abilis, 50 Glenville St. This event is for individuals and families interested in learning more about the Project SEARCH internship program that leads to competitive employment. Walk/Run for Abilis is October 20

Abilis will host its 14th annual Walk/Run for Abilis on Sunday, Oct. 20 at Greenwich Point Park (Tod’s Point). This family-friendly event includes children’s activities, a 1-mile wheelchair and stroller accessible walk, and a 5K run. There is a $40 registration fee for the Run for adults and $20 for children ages 11-to-17; the Walk is free to participate, but a donation to Abilis is appreciated. read more...

Families with Special Needs Children Seminar

Abilis is hosting a free information session – Understanding Government Benefits and Entitlements for my child with special needs – on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. The program will be held at the Abilis headquarters located at 50 Glenville St. This information session is available for parents, caregivers, professionals, guardians, and advocates who are caring for children with special needs. Abilis Has Talent Show Set for Sept. 27

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and support to more than 700 individuals with special needs and their families, has a fun-filled fall with events and activities for families and individuals of all ages. On September 27, the 3rd annual Abilis Has Talent Show will be held at 6:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church at One W. Putnam Ave. This star-studded evening showcases Abilis’ program participants with special needs and their creative talents. Close to 20 performers will show off their singing, musical and performing skills in skits that are fun for the whole family. Tickets are $25 with advance reservation or $30 at the door. Abilis Holds Open House, Job Fair

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and support to more than 700 individuals with special needs and their families, is kicking off the fall with a variety of fun events and activities for families and individuals of all ages. Coming up on Thursday, September 19, is the Abilis Services Open House and a Job Fair. At the start of each school year, Abilis holds an Open House for families of those with special needs to meet Abilis’ Therapeutic and Life Services professionals to learn more about Abilis’ programs and services. Abilis to Hold Art Show

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and support to more than 700 individuals with special needs and their families, will hold an Art Show at the First Bank of Greenwich, 444 E. Putnam Ave., on Wednesday, July 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. The show will feature paintings, photographs and digital art created by 14 adults who are supported by Abilis and participate in Abilis’ programs. The event will feature food, drinks and music, as performed by Abilis member Misa Shimada on the piano. All of the artwork being displayed will also be available for purchase. read more...

Students Invited to ‘Together We Shine’ Event

The Greenwich Junior United Way (GJrUW) – in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and the Greenwich YWCA – will host the second annual “Together We Shine” red carpet celebration for Abilis. The “Roaring Twenties” themed event will take place on Saturday, June 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, 4 Horseneck Ln.
