Obituary: Constantin von Petrov

Constantin von Petrov, of Greenwich, died peacefully at home on Dec. 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathie (Bria) Petrov, his sons William (Kate) of Stamford, Stephen of Greenwich and Alexander (Jen) of Stamford; five precious grandsons, Nicholas, Zachary, Jaxon, Mason, and Landon, all of Stamford; his twin brother Vladimir of Utah; his family in Germany; and many longtime friends. Obituary: Elizabeth Lawlor

Elizabeth “Beth” Mary Lawlor was born Jan. 27, 1967. A lifelong Greenwich resident, she was a star student-athlete during her time at Greenwich High School. After graduating in 1985, Beth earned a full scholarship to attend Providence College where she was a starting forward for the Lady Friars basketball team and later competed in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament before graduating in 1989. Shortly after starting her teaching career she enrolled in a program of graduate studies at Fairfield University that led to the completion of a Master’s in Education in teaching students with special needs. Simultaneous to her hiring as a special education teacher at Rippowam Middle School in Stamford, Beth also began her career as a coach of the field hockey and basketball teams – roles she performed with great success during her 10+ years of leadership. read more...

Obituary: Fred Intrieri

Fred W. Intrieri, 93, a lifelong Cos Cob and Greenwich, CT resident passed away on Sept. 4, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 15, 1924, the son of the late Lawrence and Josephine Chiapetta Intrieri. A veteran of World War II, Fred served in the Eighth Air Force and 90thInfantry Division. After the war, Fred and his brothers operated the landscaping company L.G. Intrieri and Sons for many years and were well known for selling Christmas trees on the Post Road. read more...
