Goldin named semifinalist in CT 2017 Teacher of the Year

Greenwich High School science teacher, Dr. Sarah Goldin has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2017 Connecticut Teacher of the Year (CT-ToY) program. As a semifinalist, Dr. Goldin met with members of the selection committee in Hartford on Sept. 15 for an interview and gave a brief presentation on a pre-assigned topic. Based on these interviews, the State committee selects the finalists for the next stage of the process. Finalists are visited at their schools at the end of September and the Commissioner announces the 2017 CT Teacher of the Year during the week of Oct. 10. read more...

YWCA Stand Against Racism Day is April 29

YWCA Greenwich’s 8th Annual Stand Against Racism Day will take place at the Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room on Friday, April 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. Join First Selectman Peter Tesei, School Superintendent William McKersie, YWCA President and CEO Adrianne Singer, other dignitaries, Greenwich High School students and the First Baptist Church Choir as all continue to work toward accomplishing a core mission of the YWCA… eliminating racism. Reading Happenings at ISD

Students were cracking the books at International School at Dundee (ISD) during January, with the start of the school’s annual January Reading Challenge and a classroom read-aloud visit by Greenwich’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. William McKersie. During the month of January, the school’s 369 students read a whopping total of 2612 books, surpassing their 2016 Reading Challenge goal by 39%. Students and faculty will celebrate this achievement with Karaoke and other fun activities. read more...
