Obituary: Beth Rollins

Beth Bierstedt Rollins, 88, a resident of Old Greenwich, Cos Cob, and Stamford since 1969, who was active in local church, music, and community affairs, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2020 at Edgehill Assisted Living Center. The cause of death was cancer, which she faced for 10 months with the quiet dignity that she brought to every other aspect of her wonderful life. Her family and dear friends will miss her greatly, knowing in their hearts that Beth was put here to connect, to help others, and to sing. read more...

Obituary: Bonnie Bancroft

Bonnie Bancroft (56) passed away on Feb. 5, 2020, after a valiant 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Bonnie was born June 5, 1963, to Rae and Marshall Winokur in Chicago, Ill. She grew up in Evanston, Ill., and attended Evanston Township High School, where she excelled on the debate team and on the swim team as a sprinter in freestyle and breaststroke. Bonnie graduated from Lehigh University in 1985 with a degree in Foreign Careers – a program that combined management and a foreign language (Bonnie was fluent in French) which helped her land jobs with couturier Jean Patou and Rail Europe (SNCF). Bonnie met Thomas Edward (Ned) Bancroft while at Lehigh, and after marrying in Bermuda in 1989, they returned to Lehigh for MBAs in 1990. read more...

Obituary: Connie Lockwood

Connie Lockwood, 79, of Greenwich, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Aug. 24. She was the wife of the late Floyd Lockwood. Connie was born in Greenwich on Aug. 31, 1939 to the late Sebestiano and Frances Turturino Pucci.
Connie was the loving and devoted mother, friend and confidant to her sons; Mark (Gina) and Dwayne (Rosemarie) Lockwood, all of Greenwich. She was the proud grandmother to Lauren and Nicholas. Connie is also survived by her siblings RoseAnn Heil, and Angelo and Ronald Pucci, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. read more...

Obituary: Marc Lovallo

Marc James “Chick” Lovallo, 45, husband of Monika Teresa Lovallo, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019. A resident of Greenville, S.C., he was born on Nov. 8, 1973 in Greenwich, CT to Rosemary Natale Lovallo and the late Donald M. Lovallo. Marc was an avid baseball player and spring was his favorite time of year. When his beloved NY Yankees began spring training, so did he. His “Love Of The Game” never faded. As a youngster he played on town baseball, beginning with Bambino Ball and playing through the Senior Babe Ruth League. The end of the season often found him playing with the town’s “All-Star” team with family and friends excitedly cheering him and his team mates on from the bleachers. Baseball was not just a season to Marc, it was an all year event. read more...

Obituary: Michael Cofone

Michael Francis Cofone, 97, of Greenwich, CT passed away peacefully on March 10, 2019. He was born Aug. 11, 1921 in Wilmington, Del., the son of Francis Cofone and Carrie (Jarvis) Cofone. Michael moved to Greenwich as a young boy and spent his adult life living between Greenwich, CT and Naples, Fla. with his beloved wife. He served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and then served as a member of the Greenwich Police Department for 25 years from Jan. 1, 1948 until July 24, 1973. Michael was a 55-year member of the Orinoco Council of The Knights of Columbus and he was also an avid golfer who twice scored a hole-in-one. read more...
