YWCA Greenwich Helps Community Understand Labor Trafficking

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, YWCA Greenwich hosted and co-sponsored a provocative discussion about labor trafficking, a crime that impacts 20.1 million people worldwide through forced labor, including children. The impressive panel provided detail about how the products and services we all purchase and the food we eat are tainted with the stain of forced labor. More than thirty-five community organizations, town officials, non-profits and houses of worship signed on to partner with YWCA Greenwich in this effort to raise awareness and provide information about what citizens and businesses can do to help end human trafficking. read more...

YWCA Greenwich has announced the honorees of the 2019 Women Who Inspire Awards, which will take place at a luncheon on Jan. 25, 2019, at Greenwich Country Club. YWCA Greenwich Welcomes Cos Cob Students

YWCA Greenwich will welcome students from Cos Cob elementary school for full day program this week to support parents in need of a safe place for children while repairs at the school are sorted out. The YWCA student program will be open at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for parents to drop off their children. Reservations are not required. Parents should simply bring their child or children to the Member Services desk and a YWCA after-school staff member will be there to greet them. read more...

Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. According to Greenwich police records, domestic violence is the most reported violent crime in Greenwich. Last year, YWCA Greenwich responded to more than 3,500 hotline and crisis calls. YWCA Greenwich is the only state designated and accredited provider of domestic abuse services in Greenwich, with staff who are licensed to provide a variety of victim services. read more...
