Editorial: Stella and the Groundhog

“Beware the Ides of March!” Such was William Shakespeare’s advice to Julius Caesar, who was famously murdered on March 15th in 44 B.C., a day that became known as the “Ides of March.” Earlier this week, we heard similar warnings as meteorologists predicted storm Stella would deliver massive amounts of snow and dangerous winds. When the storm finally passed we missed the predicted snowfall by about 10 inches. Editorial: School’s Out

Under cloud-swept skies on the first evening of summer, 635 Greenwich High School seniors received their diplomas and took the next step in their journey to adulthood. It was an emotional evening. Students listened attentively as ESPN anchor and Greenwich resident Hannah Storm talked about the challenges she overcame on her road to success. Class President Joseph Peters spoke eloquently of the tragedies they endured, of how Bart Palosz and Emily Fedorko should have graduated with them; instead Bart and Emily and another former GHS student, Carey LeCamp, were remembered by their classmates. By the end of the ceremony the sun was setting these young adults were ready for their next adventure. read more...
