United Way Grants GADC with $18,000 for Transportation Program

The Greenwich United Way (GUW) Board of Directors approved a second grant this year for River House Adult Day Center, totaling $18,000The grant is an extension through the Greenwich United Way Community Investment Process (CIP) and was awarded on June 28. The Extension Grant will be used to support the Door-to-Door Transportation program which will offset the costs associated with transportation for Greenwich-based clients. The distribution of funds for this program reflects the recommendations of the volunteers who participated in the 2017-2018 Community Investment Process and the Greenwich United Way Grants Committee. read more...

United Way to Host 85th Anniversary Celebration

Greenwich United Way will host its 85th Anniversary Celebration, “Pearls & Prohibition,” on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Greenwich Country Club, 19 Doubling Rd. The event, will honor past Board Chairs and pay tribute to the year 1933 when the Greenwich Community Chest & Council was founded. The Greenwich Community Chest & Council became the Greenwich United Way in 1975. Funds raised will support critical programs that meet the health, education and self-sufficiency needs in the Greenwich community. ‘Shoe Drive’ to Benefit Neighbor to Neighbor

The Greenwich United Way Sole Sisters have teamed up with Neighbor to Neighbor to host a town-wide shoe drive for low-income families based in the Greenwich community. The Sole Sisters Shoe Drive will run Feb. 26 through March 9 and takes place at several locations across town including the Greenwich United Way office and Neighbor to Neighbor. read more...

United Way hosts Tocqueville Society Dinner

Approximately 40 members of the Greenwich United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society met for a private dinner event on June 2 at River House Adult Day Center, a funded agency of the Greenwich United Way. The Tocqueville Society recognizes those whose generous contributions to the Greenwich United Way over the past year total $10,000 and above. As a group, Tocqueville members contribute almost one half of the Annual Campaign funds at Greenwich United Way. read more...

United Way Awarded Grant by Nitron

Javier Urrutia, President of Nitron Group presented Greenwich United Way CEO, David Rabin with a check for $30,000. The gift was part of a challenge grant that was announced at the 11th Annual Sole Sisters Luncheon on April 19. Arianna Hufftington keynoted the event, which brought in more than $275,000 in fundraising for critical human service needs in the community. read more...
