Emily’s Chimes

The Greenwich Point Conservancy and the Emily Catherine Fedorko Foundation have partnered to restore the fabulous musical chimes in tower of the Chimes Building at Greenwich Point. Known as “chimola”, they were manufactured in London, England in 1901, and are among the most rare and valuable chimes in the world.

Editorial: School’s Out

Under cloud-swept skies on the first evening of summer, 635 Greenwich High School seniors received their diplomas and took the next step in their journey to adulthood. It was an emotional evening. Students listened attentively as ESPN anchor and Greenwich resident Hannah Storm talked about the challenges she overcame on her road to success. Class President Joseph Peters spoke eloquently of the tragedies they endured, of how Bart Palosz and Emily Fedorko should have graduated with them; instead Bart and Emily and another former GHS student, Carey LeCamp, were remembered by their classmates. CHAMPS Walk Raises Money for Mine Sniffing Dogs

Hundreds showed up on April 24 to walk with their dogs, and stayed for an informal dog show and games to help North Mianus and Cos Cob school students raise funds to support mine dogs. Held at Bruce Park, this walk in particular, raised funds for students to have their own dog to be named “Emily,” in memory of Emily Fedorko, who attended North Mianus School and died in a boat accident two years ago. read more...
