Greenwich Alliance for Education’s Turkey Trot is Nov. 25

The seventh annual Greenwich Alliance for Education’s Turkey Trot will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25. Join over 1,200 spectators and participants in the perfect post-Thanksgiving family activity. Registrants will be able to choose from either a 5K race or a non-competitive 1-mile run/walk. Both races begin and end at the Arch Street Teen Center at 100 Arch St. and pace through the roads of Bruce Park. The 1-mile starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by the 5K at 10 a.m. All proceeds from the Turkey Trot will directly benefit the Greenwich Alliance for Education’s programs that aim to foster educational success for Greenwich Public School students. read more...

Parks Preservation is Topic of GEC Program

“Reviving the Historic Parks of Greenwich,” a program presented by landscape architect Martha Lyon on Thursday April 7 at 10 a.m., will be high-lighting the Town of Greenwich’s ongoing efforts to preserve the historic character of each of its four town parks landscape while, the same time, preparing for future needs spurred by shifting public use and the potential effects of climate change.
