DESCRIPTION:Do you enjoy working with children and have a love of nature? Join our team of Volunteer Teacher Naturalists! \nGreenwich Audubon Center welcomes individuals of all levels of experience in childhood education and natural history to join our Spring Training Sessions for teaching and assisting with school programs. Our team of Volunteer Teacher Naturalists is an all-welcoming group in which members actively engage with visiting school groups as well as youth-oriented public events at the Greenwich Audubon Center. \nOur 2026 Spring Training Sessions will be focused on four school curriculums that are taught to elementary school children with hands-on\, outdoor instruction from Audubon Educators on how these programs are conducted. Trainees will also get to engage with long-time volunteers to learn of the day-to-day activities of our Teacher Naturalists in a fun and interactive way! \nFollowing these sessions\, new trainees will shadow and assist with school programs to familiarize with material and eventually lead groups themselves when preferred. \nSCHEDULE OF CURRICULUM TOPICS Tuesday\, March 24 Introduction to being a TN Bird Migration (Grades K-2) \nWednesday\, March 25 Freshwater Ecology (Grades 2-3) \nThursday\, March 26 Water Erosion & Watersheds – (Grades 3-4) \nFor more information and to sign up contact Ryan MacLean at ryan.maclean@audubon.org \nPLEASE NOTE: All Volunteer Teacher Naturalists are required to submit background checks to Audubon to work with youth. \nPhoto: Evan Barrientos / National Audubon Society
