Remarkable Raptors and Their Highways in the Sky

August 22, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$10

Did you know that an average of 20,000 hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate over Greenwich Audubon Center’s Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Join Audubon naturalist Ryan MacLean to learn about their life histories and how to identify these skilled hunters of the air. You will also learn about the incredible journeys these birds take in migration each year, and how people across North America count them for research. Following an introduction where you will learn how to distinguish the different shapes of hawks in flight, we’ll take you on a virtual walk to our hawk watch lawn to learn how to use binoculars and scan for migrating birds of prey. You can then use these skills this fall to observe the amazing spectacle of raptor migration!

Program Fee: Several ticket levels available, beginning at $10. Please only register through our official registration page provided below.
