American Chestnut Restoration

GLT and Greenwich Tree Conservancy will be hosting a special program at GLT’s American Chestnut Sanctuary. Guests will learn about the most recent efforts to restore blight resistant American Chestnuts back into the wild. Join us for a tour of the sanctuary and see how the blight impacts the trees. Guests will also harvest chestnuts if possible. Please bring a mask, as all current distancing rules will be utilized for everyone’s safety. Please dress appropriately for an outdoor walk and don’t forget your sun protection and water bottle! Space is limited to 15 people and pre-registration is required. The American Chestnut Sanctuary at Duck Pond Hill Preserve is across from 18 Burning Tree Road. Street parking is available.
