Byram Library Holiday Tree Lighting, Open House

The holiday season begins officially at the Byram Shubert Library Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m., with its Friends of the Byram Shubert Library’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Open House. The community gathers for an evening of music, crafts for the children, an international potluck supper and, perhaps, a surprise visitor. Byram Library Book, Media Sale is Nov. 1 to 4

The Friends of the Byram Shubert Library will hold their Giant Book and Media Sale, with a Preview on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a $20 entry fee which will allow prospective buyers the first look at a variety of material available: bestsellers, and non-fiction on a wide range of topics, including history, business, art, decorating, cooking, crafts, personal growth and more. read more...

Town Announces First ‘Experience Greenwich Week’

The Town of Greenwich announced its first annual “Experience Greenwich Week,” a town-wide economic development enhancement initiative that will take place Oct. 22 to 28. The initiative will feature in-store promotions, experiences and dining specials at more than 150 merchants spanning Greenwich, Byram, Cos Cob, Riverside and Old Greenwich. Participants include retail stores, restaurants, fine arts galleries and the Bruce Museum. Experience Greenwich Week was developed to promote local businesses and to drive awareness to the town’s many offerings for visitors from across the U.S. in addition to local and regional residents. read more...

Heat Advisory Issued for Greenwich

For the next few days Connecticut will experience dangerous heat and humidity conditions. At times the temperature will feel over 100 degrees. Because of this, the Greenwich Department of Health notes that heat-related illnesses are a Public Health threat. All residents, especially persons who are young, elderly, have medical or mental health conditions, use medications that impede body temperature regulation, those who do not have air conditioning, those whose work requires outdoor activities and people who are socially isolated are encouraged to pay special attention to the weather. read more...
