‘Skip the Straw’ Greenwich Campaign Kicks Off Sept. 30

Join Skip the Straw Greenwich for a kick-off event celebrating the launch of the Old Greenwich campaign to reduce plastic waste and protect our waterways and shorelines on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 2:30 p.m., at the Old Greenwich School plaza. Greenwich Girl Scouts and town residents will gather with community leaders for a Skip the Straw welcome and proclamation by First Selectman Peter Tesei. Zoo Educator Brings Live Animals to Greenwich Point

On Sunday, Sept. 2, the Bruce Museum Seaside Center at Greenwich Point Park will host Jim Knox, zoologist and curator of education at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, along with a few live animals from the zoo. At 2 and again at 2:35 p.m., Knox will explore the international state of biodiversity and profile the zoo’s work with Species Survival Plans in Connecticut and beyond. Knox’s message of hope will be underscored by appearances by live animal ambassadors from the zoo including a recovered endangered species and a rescue animal ambassador. read more...
