Land Trust Holds Winter Walk

Join the Greenwich Land Trust for a Winter Walk Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. After the foliage fireworks of autumn, most people aren’t interested in the natural beauty of trees in the winter. They often think of the winter forest as a monochromatic stand of brown and grey trunks. But on this guided walk through the 40-acre Lapham Preserve, you will learn how to identify trees without their leaves by taking a closer look at the diverse features of bark, branches, and buds. Attendees will also enjoy a varied winter landscape and learn about the many strategies flora and fauna employ to survive the winter. read more...
