High School Girl Scouts Earn the MISSION: SISTERHOOD!

This year’s event, “Frosty Fun Night,” was held on Saturday, February 3 and welcomed over 120 Girl Scouts from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Kindergarten Daisy Troop Leader, Colleen Wood-Smith, remarked that Frosty Fun Night was an, “upbeat, fun and happy event where girls are leaders!”

Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich believes volunteer engagement is at the core foundation of the organization. Students from Greenwich Country Day School's "Hungry for Change" course volunteered at Meals-on-Wheels, positively impacting the Meals-on-Wheels clients.

Student-Curated Exhibit Celebrates South Asian American Youth Heritage

India Cultural Center, UConn Asian and Asian American Studies Institute and Greenwich Historical Society have partnered on a student-curated exhibit to celebrate South Asian American youth heritage. The ‘Our Story, Our Future’ exhibit features memorabilia student participants collected from oral history interviews with family members on how their stories of immigration and life in India shaped their identities. Their interviews also will help support the state’s K-12 Asian American & Pacific Islander curriculum.

Savoring History and Heritage: Inside Greenwich’s First Kosher Delicatessen with Chef David

I knew I was in for a treat when our meal began with Chef David asking me if there was anything I didn’t eat, my response was no, I love to eat anything and everything. Chef David replied, “God bless you. As a chef, music to my ears.” And what a treat it was, as you read last week in my review, Greenwich & Delancey has become one of my all-time favorite restaurants in town, but even more delightful than the meal itself was getting to share it with Chef David as he introduced me to his wonderful world of cooking. It’s not every day I get to sit down with the Chef who's generously feeding me, and to have the Chef explain the story of the restaurant and his culinary journey while you’re eating the food he’s prepared… it’s an incredible experience.
