Round Hill to kick off summer concert series

Graham Clarke will kick off the “On the Lawn” summer concert series at Round Hill Community Church on Sunday, June 26 at 4 p.m. Graham and his friends, Delores, Cinnamon and Bluebell, will entertain children and grownups with their unique blend of music, stories, humor and games. Fireworks displays set for 4th of July celebration

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces the locations of the two Town Fireworks Displays in celebration of Independence Day. For the eleventh consecutive year, the town will present displays at Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park. Both displays are scheduled for Saturday, July 2, with a rain date of Sunday, July 3. The Binney Park Show will start at approximately 9:10 p.m. and the Greenwich Point Show will begin at approximately 9:35 p.m. It is strongly recommended that anyone planning to attend either display and especially the Greenwich Point display arrive early. read more...

Greenwich history afloat at Old Greenwich Yacht Club

This year, as a continuing sponsor of the town’s annual Experience the Sound event, the Greenwich Historical Society is teaming up with the Greenwich Point Conservancy and Old Greenwich Yacht Club to host a historical boat tour of the waters off Greenwich Point on Sunday, June 26. Taking a new tack in honor of its exhibition “Close to the Wind: Our Maritime History,” the Historical Society is offering lucky guests a chance to test their sea legs during this 45-minute cruise. read more...

First Congregational to hold ‘Night of Storytelling’

On Wednesday, June 22 at 6 p.m. the First Congregational Church of Greenwich invites the community to a “Night of Storytelling… on the lawn.” This special evening is an event for all ages. Folks are welcome to bring picnic dinners and an appetite for some wonderful storytelling by Val Tutson, a nationally acclaimed storyteller from Providence, R.I. The church will provide beverages and all the ingredients to make-your-own sundaes. The storytelling will take place in the church. read more...
