In order to limit the spread of COVID 19, we are staying home and have substituted many of the activities we once cherished with other activities, yet these substitutes are only partially successful at filling the void. This is because “it’s not the activities we miss, it’s the people.”
Foreign films are not only artistically fulfilling, but they can help us learn about distant people, places and circumstances and make the world seem a little smaller.
In these challenging and somewhat divisive times, it is important for all of us to take advantage of opportunities to come together, share ideas and learn from each other about critical social issues. Film, and particularly documentaries, can be a powerful vehicle for making these opportunities happen.
