Panel Empowers Greenwich Seniors at Wallace Center

The Wallace Center, in conjunction with The Friends of the Wallace Center, hosted an informative “A Blueprint for Aging Well” panel on Thursday, March 27, at the Wallace Center in Greenwich. Over 60 attendees received valuable insights and strategic advice on various topics, including Senior Living Options, Legal Matters, Downsizing, and Wealth Management.
The panelists included:
Wendy Day, CSA, owner of Dwell Senior Advisors, addressed various living arrangement options and the benefits of working with a placement specialist.
Zahya Beall, founder and owner of Damefender Financial Partners, discussed the advantages of long-term care insurance, retirement accounts, and the financial planning process in relation to senior living and care.
Attorney Alessandra Messineo Long explained the key estate planning documents, including those that support healthcare decisions and asset distribution, and provided an overview of the probate process.
Andrea Ruby, founder and CEO of Living Forward, outlined the crucial steps in the downsizing process and offered tips for decluttering one’s home, even if a move is not imminent.
The panel was moderated by Sue Moretti Bodson.
“It was an enlightening and engaging afternoon at the Wallace Center,” expressed Lori Contadino, the Executive Director of the Greenwich Commission on Aging and the Wallace Center. “Our core mission is to significantly enhance the quality of life for older adult residents in Greenwich. We strive to achieve this through a comprehensive approach that includes thoughtful planning, seamless coordination, strong advocacy, educational initiatives, and a variety of innovative programs and services. This event was a perfect embodiment of our goals and aspirations.”
The Wallace Center’s primary goal is to improve the quality of life for Greenwich residents aged 55 and older through planning, coordination, advocacy, education, and innovative programs and services.
The Wallace Center and the Commission on Aging envision a community of engaged, informed, and empowered older adults with access to resources that support independence and enable successful aging in Greenwich and the surrounding areas.
