National Summit on Preventing Executive Burnout Aims to Address Growing Crisis in C-Suite

In response to the escalating rates of executive burnout and stress, Silver Hill Hospital and OKI ME, LLC have joined forces to host the National Summit on Preventing Executive Burnout & Stress on May 3 at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor hotel in Greenwich, Conn.

Recent surveys have shown that 70% of executives are contemplating leaving their jobs for more well-being focused workplaces. High-profile companies like YouTube, Twitch, Strava, and GrubHub have seen turnover at the CEO level due to health and wellness-related concerns.

The National Summit aims to provide tools and best practices for maintaining mental health and wellness in the workplace. It will feature renowned medical and wellness experts, business executives, and award-winning music industry celebrities. Seven individuals will be honored with Executive Mentor Well-Being Success Awards.

The event will be hosted by Dr. Andrew J. Gerber, President and Medical Director of Silver Hill Hospital, and Martha R.A. Fields of OKI ME, LLC. Esteemed colleagues affiliated with or trained at Yale, Brown, and Harvard universities, and Yale New Haven Hospital will also participate in the conference.

Featured speakers include Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winning artist Nile Rodgers and talent agent Jonny Podell, who will share their inspirational stories of burnout, addiction, and recovery.

“We are seeing stress and burnout throughout the workforce at unprecedented levels. This conference will put the focus on best practices and tools that can be applied in one’s professional and personal life that can help manage these stressors,” said Dr. Gerber.

The summit will include expert panels on preventing executive burnout and stress, workshops on work rejuvenation break techniques, and discussions on lessons from the “Blue Zones,” places where people live the longest and healthiest lives. Attendees will have the opportunity to create strategic action plans based on the information presented at the conference.

Dr. Petra Pilgrim, director and psychiatrist of The Steward House, Silver Hill Hospital’s transitional living program for executives and professionals with mental illness and drug and alcohol addiction, will provide the opening remarks.

The National Summit on Preventing Executive Burnout & Stress will take place on Wednesday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor hotel in Greenwich.
