Open note of thanks to the Town of Greenwich

To: First Selectman Camillo and Greenwich residents:

As my retirement is approaching on March 2023, I extend a heartfelt thanks for having me for 25 years working to give Greenwich and the adjacent town’s residents the best services from the resources and facilities of the Greenwich Health Department Laboratory.

It was a great honor for me to serve you and to dedicate a great part of my life towards the prevention of diseases by conducting many bacteriological testing, health clinics, and educational health services together with the staff of the Greenwich Health Department. The Greenwich Health Department lab has been in business for over 100 years, so it would be vital to support it as it serves the resident’s health needs well.

At the same time, I was blessed and honored to develop a professional friendship with the Greenwich Police Department as I took, The Greenwich Police Academic. I recommend it to all Greenwich residents. It is a great educational tool for personal safety and for becoming aware of all the services the Greenwich Police does.

What I will miss most about Greenwich besides the human factor (co-workers, friends, and residents) is driving to Greenwich Town Hall and, on my way, seeing how clean the streets are kept (I love this) and how seniors and people with disabilities are treated with much consideration and many services to help them out.

Thus, as a non-resident, I would highlight Greenwich’s pristine environment and how well the town cares for its senior citizens and persons with disabilities. If somebody asked me, I could say with great certainty Greenwich does best-serving seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Thank you again for having me!

With sincerity,

Yvette Ghannam, BA, MA, MS, Ph.D.
