Curtain Call holds auditions for ‘The Wizard of Oz’

Curtain Call, Stamford’s longest running and only year round producing theatre company, will hold auditions for its spring musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” January 22, 23 and 24.

All roles are open to non-union actors in this adult production. Dorothy will be cast age-appropriately. Munchkins will be cast from younger performers ages 6-12. Auditions for adults (and Dorothy) will be held Monday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 24 from 7:00 to approximately 10:00 p.m. in The Kweskin Theatre. Auditions for the Munchkins will be held Sunday, January 22 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., also in The Kweskin Theatre.

Those auditioning should prepare a brief song in the style of the show, be prepared to read from the script and to learn a brief dance combination. Auditionees should bring sheet music in the correct key and have proper footwear to dance in. No flip flops or sandals. The production will be directed by Jeffrey Bianco with music direction by Matt Stolfi and choreography by Kelly Nayden. Rehearsals will begin February 6 with performances running March 31 through April 22.
