Kurt E. Hothorn, Jr., a resident of Greenwich, CT, passed away at Greenwich Hospital on September 23, 2022. He was 78. Kurt was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, NY, he was the son of the late Ruth and Kurt Hothorn, Sr. Kurt graduated from Concordia Prep, and went on to earn a degree in finance from Valparaiso University in Indiana. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. His professional life started in the insurance business, but his passion for automobiles led him to career positions with both Chrysler and BMW. In later years, he became a real estate agent in Greenwich, a position that he enjoyed until retirement.
He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl; his sister, Mitzi Renz; nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, September 29 followed by interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Greenwich.
Kurt had a deep love for animals, and was never without a beloved pet by his side. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the SPCA of Connecticut.
