From the Town Registrars: Voting in the August 9 Primaries

On Tuesday, August 9, there will be a Democratic Primary and a Republican Primary. Only registered Democrats and registered Republicans may vote in their respective primaries. Unaffiliated voters are not eligible to vote in the primaries. In Greenwich, the Democratic Party Primary will determine the Democratic candidates for two state offices, the Secretary of the State and State Treasurer, for the November 8 Election. The Republican Party Primary will determine the Republican candidates for the Secretary of the State and for two federal offices, U.S. Senate and U. S. Representative for the November 8 Election.

All eligible voters can vote either by absentee ballot or in person. Polling places will be open from 6 AM to 8 PM.

The Registrars of Voters recently sent a postcard to all registered voters in Greenwich indicating voters’ voting districts and state assembly districts. Some voters’ state assembly districts have changed as a result of redistricting, which occurs every ten years. The Registrars of Voters recommend that voters save the postcard which tells them on the back where to vote in November.

For the primary elections only, four polling places have changed.

District 3 will vote at the Hamilton Avenue School cafeteria.

Districts 7 and 7A will vote at Greenwich Library lower level.

District 8 will vote at the Cos Cob School gym.

Districts 11 and 11A will vote at the Parkway School cafeteria.

The polling places for the other districts are unchanged.

District 1 and 1A will vote at Julian Curtiss School.

District 2 will vote at Town Hall.

District 4 and 4A will vote at New Lebanon School.

District 5 and 5A will vote at Riverside School.

District 6 and 6A will vote at Old Greenwich School.

District 9 will vote at Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center.

District 10 will vote at Glenville School.

District 12 will vote at North Mianus School.
