Public Appeal for Safe, Immediate Return of Missing Mead Antiques from Putnam Cottage

All, when I visited Putnam Cottage on Thursday, July 15, it was the first time the house was opened to the public in a long time.

While I was so delighted to return, I found myself both saddened and astounded to discover that several Mead family antiques I donated are missing.

They were not in the house, in the barn or anywhere on the premises. None of the members present of the Putnam Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution or the Israel Putnam House Association knew where they were.

I donated these three antiques on August 25, 2014. Photographer Christopher Semmes transported them with me in his car, and kindly captured these images.

I am making a public appeal for the unconditional, safe and immediate return of these items to Putnam Cottage. Now.

No questions asked at this time -however, if they are not returned within a reasonable time we will take additional measures.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Mead
