Anthony Joseph Sclafani was born March 21, 1926, in New Rochelle, NY to Jean and Salvatore Sclafani. He is the last surviving child, having been predeceased by brothers Enofrio (Edward) and Salvatore, Jr., Sclafani, as well as sisters Rose Larocca, Florence Mennitto, Lilian (Lee) Zito and Laura Razionale. Anthony was also predeceased by his first wife, Josephine, and grandson, Breton A. Marr.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his present wife, Joan, his children, Jean S. Rogienski and Raymond M. Sclafani, grandchildren Ryan T. Marr, Taylor T. Viola, Alexis J. Viola, Lisa M. Campanella, Jason Sclafani and three great-grandchildren, Anthony John and Madison Sclafani and Brielle Campanella.

Anthony (Red) Sclafani graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, attended Alfred University in Alfred, New York, and was graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Anthony began his 42-year brokerage career with Bache, Halsey Stuart and retired from Prudential Securities at the age of 68. He was an active member of the New Rochelle Rotary Club for over 30 years where he instituted their blood bank and served multiple times as President.

Anthony loved vacationing with his family in Marco Island, a special place that held many memories for him. After his retirement, he and Joan moved to Marco Island for 10 years, then to Sun City for 10 years before moving to the Cypress on Hilton Head.

Anthony enjoyed golfing and cruising and in 2000 he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of a world cruise. Red was devoted, above all, to his family and his faith. He was a most generous and principled man.
The family wishes to thank GHC hospice for their meticulous and loving care of Anthony. We were fortunate and grateful to have them.

A requiem mass was held at St. Francis By The Sea Catholic Church on June 8 on Hilton Head Island. Interment for his remains will be placed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich, CT at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to GHC Hospice.
