How to Recycle Your Tree and Lights in Greenwich

Christmas Tree Recycling

Now through January 31, the Department of Parks and Recreation will be hosting collection sites to recycle Christmas Trees. The collection sites are as follows:

  • 8am to 4pm at the parking lot by the concession at Byram Park
  • 8am to 4pm at the parking lot by the Children’s playground at Bruce Park
  • 6am to sunset at the parking lot across from the Nature Center at Greenwich Point
  • 7am to 2:30pm weekdays and 7am to 12 noon on Saturdays at the yard waste area at Holly Hill Recycling Center

Wood chips will be available to residents at each collection site.

Christmas Light Recycling

You can recycle your old Christmas lights at Holly Hill in the designated bin at the electronics area. The Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board (GRAB) will send them to Christmas Light Source for recycling of the glass, copper and plastic components. Alternatively residents can send lights themselves for a discount coupon. Their address is: Christmas Light Source, Recycling Program, 4313 Elmwood Drive, Benbrook, TX 76116. The proceeds from the recycling will be used to buy books and educational games and toys which are then donated to Toys for Tots.
