Scholarship in Memory

Bill Mongovan, known as Mongo, was with the GHS running program for more than 55 years before he passed away recently. He had over 400 cross country wins and over 700 total victories in his time there and was inducted into the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Hall of Fame in 2005. In his memory, a group of GHS former athletes formed a nonprofit, the William Mongovan Memorial Foundation, to raise money for a scholarship in his name.
