The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation (TLC), a nonprofit organization that funds pediatric research, raised more than $100,000 at its seventh annual gala, a vintage circus-themed fundraiser to benefit childhood cancer research.  The sold-out event was hosted on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich in Greenwich, CT.

“It was an outstanding celebration of what the nonprofit has accomplished in memory of my son, Ty, and a tremendous fundraising success to benefit potentially life-saving research for kids with cancer,” said Cindy Campbell, cofounder of the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation.

Every venue detail, from the registration tables to the stage, was transformed with vintage circus décor. Entertainment included lively casino tables and a mentalist who performed for small crowds throughout the night. The theme was complete after a talented aerialist performed to the inspiring soundtrack from The Greatest Showman.

In addition to the evening’s festivities, special award presentations were made to Pawling Town Supervisor, James Schmitt, and Riley Damiano, an 18-year old girl from Patterson, NY, who founded The Blue Lollipop Project in support of the nonprofit.  The TLC “Heart of Gold” awards were intended to recognize Schmitt and Damiano for their exemplary efforts in supporting pediatric cancer research.

“Our devoted team worked so hard planning this event, and we feel so fortunate that we were able to move forward with the fundraiser before the severity of the coronavirus was realized,” said Campbell. “The room was filled with ringmasters, animal print cocktail dresses, fortune tellers, and even a bearded lady. Considering how much has changed just a few short days later, I relish in knowing everyone had such fun and we raised so much money for this important cause – while it was still safe to do so.”

The annual gala is TLC’s largest adult-centered fundraising event of the year with 100% of the proceeds going directly to funding new research treatments for children who are currently battling aggressive cancers. All contributions will help the nonprofit fund urgently needed therapies and treatment options for children who desperately need them.
