Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC) announces the live stream of “I Will Survive,” a virtual dance party with Greenwich’s DJ April Larken on Instagram Friday, April 3, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. To attend, follow @aprillarken on Instagram and tune in to her “Live” feed by clicking on her profile picture. In light of the rapidly developing Covid-19 situation, CLC canceled its Annual Benefit on April 24, which was to feature the Grammy-award winning Gloria Gaynor. Instead, CLC is bringing the dance party to living rooms everywhere. The event is free, but donations are welcome. Currently, CLC is focusing its effort to help assist those on the front lines battling the COVID-19 pandemic by providing care and education of healthcare workers and first responders.

Marc Jaffe, Chief Executive Officer of CLC, said, “providing care and education to the children of our healthcare workers and first responders is crucial in stopping the spread of COVID-19. We are extremely pleased to be able to provide this support so our healthcare workforce can focus on what we all need them to be doing right now.”

The social distancing dance party is an opportunity to connect people and flatten the curve. The event is being sponsored by the Berger Family Foundation, Ernest & Young, McKinnon Family Foundation, Moffly Media, Pitney Bowes, Silver Golub & Teitell LLP, Stamford Hospital, Synchrony and Walter J. McKeever and Co LLC.

About Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC)

“We celebrate joy every day at Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County. After all, we get to spend our days with nearly 1,000 young children, ages six weeks – 5 years old, helping them learn in a safe, fun environment in 8 different locations in Stamford, CT,” says Marc Jaffe, Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Learning Centers (CLC.)

CLC has been a leader in developing and implementing high quality and affordable early childhood education and care programs since 1902. All of the nonprofit agency’s eight locations are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or approved by Federal Head Start.

Research has shown that 90% of the brain is developed by the time a child turns five, and the greatest return on investment in education comes from a high-quality early childhood education program.

CLC’s comprehensive curriculum, on-site health services, family service workers, and nutrition program set it apart from other early childhood education providers. CLC has partnered with Yale University Center for Emotional Intelligence to develop social and emotional skills in young children. CLC is currently working with the Nurture Science Program in Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center to help families use the healing power of nurture to address and prevent emotional, behavioral, and developmental difficulties.
