If you are concerned about an activity or a group not following guidelines issued through COVID-19 related Executive Orders and emergency declarations, please call the Greenwich Police Department’s non-emergency phone number at 203-622-8004.

“This is not meant to be a tattle-tale phone line. This line is for reporting the congregation of people and other non-emergency COVID-related calls. This phone line is not for seeking information about COVID-19,” said Police Chief James Heavey.

If you are experiencing mild symptoms of illness and are not in a high risk group that you contact your personal physician rather than call 911. If you have mild symptoms, do not go to the emergency room before contacting your doctor for direction. If you have any serious symptoms, please do not hesitate to call 911. Please save 911 for real emergencies.

The Department of Health has five phone lines specifically dedicated to the public for questions and answers about COVID-19. They are: 203-622 -7865; 203-622-7703; 203-622- 7614; 203-622-7842 and 203-622-7836.

Lock it or Lose It

Police Chief Heavey also urges residents to be more vigilant with locking their vehicles. “Car thieves aren’t staying home because of COVID-19. This weekend, there were five vehicles stolen in Town. All were left unlocked and with the keys inside. Lock it or you may become a victim of car thieves,” Chief Heavey said.

Parks Remain Closed

All Town parks, beaches, marinas and the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course remain closed to the public. Greenwich Police are taking enforcement measures with violators. On Friday evening (March 27), a Greenwich resident was issued a summons for trespassing after he was caught scaling the fence at Greenwich Point Park, according to Chief Heavey.
