Governor Ned Lamont announced that he has scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 21 as the date to hold a special election to fill a vacancy for state representative in the 151st Assembly District of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
The seat, which consists of portions of Greenwich, became vacant on Dec. 2 following the resignation of Fred Camillo.
Under state law, the governor is required to issue a writ of special election within ten days of a vacancy in the General Assembly and a special election must be held exactly 46 days after the date the writ was issued.
Governor Lamont directed special elections to be held on Jan. 14 for two other vacant seats in the House of Representatives, including for the 48th Assembly District, which became vacant on Nov. 20, and the 132nd Assembly District, which became vacant on Nov. 22.
