Earlier this year Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) Executive Director, Will Kies was the recipient of the Greenwich Garden Club Conservation Award. The annual award recognizes someone who has contributed significantly to conservation efforts within the Town of Greenwich. Last month, former Greenwich Garden Club President, Jane Dunn and Medals & Awards Committee members, Kate Baccile and Leslie Lee presented Will with the award.

Will was honored to be the recipient, stating “The names engraved on this tray are conservation legacies in our Town and beyond, all contributing greatly to promoting environmental engagement, protecting our community’s natural resources, and conserving valuable open space. It is humbling to be included in such an important group.” The award is a silver tray that was given by Greenwich Garden Club member, Helen Binney Kitchel in memory of her husband, Allan Ferrand Kitchel. Helen received the Margaret Douglas Award, Garden Club Of America’s highest conservation honor, for her devotion and work in all aspects of conservation.
