Elizabeth Wald Kvaale, a resident of Greenwich and native of Rye, passed away December 20, 2019, at age 56. She was born May 1, 1963 to Arnold & Edith Wald.

She was a graduate of Rye High School Class of ’80 and went on to the Eastman School of Music where she continued to cultivate her skills playing the violin. Though an incredible violinist, she still had several passions she needed to pursue. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College where she studied music and Spanish. She later went on to study marketing at the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) where she met the love of her life, Halvard. An inspiring woman of many talents, Elizabeth pursued various careers. She worked in international marketing in Oslo, Norway, and sold exhibition space during her time in San Francisco.

Upon her return to NY, Elizabeth was a personal trainer, but her passion was most exemplified through the jewelry line she created, Stones in Harmony. She touched many people through the healing power of the gemstones from her pieces. Along with making jewelry, she spent her last year tutoring Spanish and violin to kids. She even reached her dream of playing fiddle alongside various bands on stage.

Elizabeth is the beloved wife of Halvard and the cherished mother of Emma Sofia. She is also survived by her mother, Edith Wald, her loving siblings, Richard, Daniel, David, Lois, Adrienne and Cathy Wald, and faithful furry companions, Andre & Lucy.

To honor Elizabeth’s life, family and friends will gather on Friday, Dec. 27 from 4-7pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10am at the funeral home followed by interment at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery.
