December 16 designated as Anthony ‘Tony’ Turner Day

PROCLAMATION from Fred Camillo, First Selectman

WHEREAS, Board of Estimate and Taxation members spend countless volunteer hours on behalf of the Town of Greenwich; and

WHEREAS, Time and effort, have been spent on the proper administration of the financial affairs of the Town including issuance of the annual recommended budget and setting the Town tax mill rate. The Board also acts on requests for additional appropriations, transfers and allotments made during the fiscal year. The Town’s Annual Report, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Component Unit Financial Report for the Retirement System of the Town of Greenwich also fall under the Board of Estimate and Taxation; and

WHEREAS, Anthony ‘Tony’ Turner has been a Greenwich resident for nearly 30 years where he resides with his wife and two children, both of whom attend the Greenwich Public Schools. He was the founder and owner of Financial Tracking, a regulatory software company based in Riverside; and

WHEREAS,  In January 2017, Tony was unanimously appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board of Estimate and Taxation. As a result of his appointment, he resigned from the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting after three years of service. Tony served as a member of the New Lebanon Building Committee, the RTM Health and Human Services committee, a Cub Scout leader, past ruling elder at First Presbyterian Church, co-chair of stewardship and nominating committee chair; and

WHEREAS, Tony is completing three years of service on the Board of Estimate and Taxation; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Fred Camillo, FIRST SELECTMAN OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH, do hereby proclaim Monday, December 16, 2019 as Anthony ‘Tony’ Turner  Day in the Town of Greenwich and encourage all our citizens to join me in recognizing his years of dedicated service to our community.
