Stanwich Church will host author and speaker, Rev. Dr. Fleming Rutledge on the topic of Advent from her new book “Advent: The Once and Future Coming of Jesus Christ,” on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. This book is recommended for all who have lost the “Christmas spirit” and who want to know more about the waiting period before Christmas.
Dr. Rutledge is a preacher and teacher known throughout the US, Canada, and the British Isles. She is the author of ten books, all from Eerdmans Publishing. One of the first women to be ordained to the priesthood of the Episcopal Church, she served for 21 years in parish ministry, 14 of them on the clergy staff at Grace Church in New York City.
