Abilis Holds Open House, Job Fair

Abilis, the non-profit organization that provides services and support to more than 700 individuals with special needs and their families, is kicking off the fall with a variety of fun events and activities for families and individuals of all ages. Coming up on Thursday, September 19, is the Abilis Services Open House and a Job Fair. At the start of each school year, Abilis holds an Open House for families of those with special needs to meet Abilis’ Therapeutic and Life Services professionals to learn more about Abilis’ programs and services. Abilis will be also hosting a Jobs Fair along with the Open House.  This event is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Abilis’ headquarters at 50 Glenville St. For more information and to register please visit abilis.us/calendar.

The Abilis Services Open House is open to the public. Abilis provides early intervention and customized therapies, as well as family education and advocacy to help individuals achieve important developmental milestones through its Therapeutic Services programs. As individuals approach and enter adulthood, Abilis provides a wide range of Life Services programs, including recreational activities, transition and life skills support, job training, competitive and supported employment, individual life planning, and a choice of residential options. Abilis Life Services programs are provided throughout Fairfield County, while the Abilis Therapeutic Services programs are centered in the Stamford office. Abilis LEAP transitions services for young adults are centrally located in Greenwich, Stamford, Westport, Wilton, Ridgefield and New Canaan. Abilis manages more than 40 residential homes in Greenwich, Stamford and Norwalk, and works with numerous schools, civic organizations, and other community partners to deliver programs to individuals and families when and where they need them most.

Abilis is also hiring! The Abilis Job Fair, being held at the same time as the Services Open House, will highlight job opportunities to work with the dynamic staff at Abilis in an environment where you can make a difference! Abilis is hosting its Job Fair on Thursday, September 19, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at its Greenwich office at 50 Glenville Street.

Positions available include the following:

• Residential Services and Day Program supports – Direct Care Staff

• Pediatric Speech Pathologists

• Occupational Pediatric Therapists
