Obituary: Matthew Pasternak

Matthew S. Pasternak, 68, of Greenwich, CT, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 3 at his home. Mr. Pasternak was a multi-industry growth strategist and global investor, associated with Klipmart Corp., Crowd Science, Inc., HealthiNation, Inc., and Information Resources Inc., where he was involved in advertising, marketing and sales capacities. Earlier in his career he held positions at MCA DiscoVision, Inc., RCA Colombia Pictures and Vestron Video. He held a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Film Production and Finance from New York University.

Born Sept. 10, 1950 in Vicksburg, Miss., he was the son of the late Raphael and Violet Irene (Blankenship) Pasternak. As a child he lived in Venezuela, where his father was a mining engineer. Returning to the United States, his family settled in Greenwich in 1965 where he attended Greenwich High School, graduating in 1967. In 1971, he married his first wife, the former Ingrid Kerschus, of Greenwich, CT. In 2000, he married his second wife, the former Alicja Szamborski, who predeceased him in 2013.

He is survived by two children from his first marriage, a daughter, Ilona Pasternak, and a son, Adrian Pasternak, both of Greenwich, CT. He is also survived by a brother, Jeffrey Pasternak, of Malibu, Calif., and a sister, Janet Pasternak, of Anchorage, Alaska.

Services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook, N.Y.
