The Town of Greenwich will hold two fireworks displays — one at Binney Park, and the other at Greenwich Point — for residents this Fourth of July weekend, on Saturday, July 6, with a rain date of July 7.

You can find information for both displays below.

Binney Park Fireworks – 9:10 p.m.

  • The Binney Park Fireworks are open to everyone. There is no Park Pass required.
  • All spectators are strongly urged to bring a working flashlight.
  • Please follow the instructions of Police Officers who will be assisting drivers, pedestrians and bikers. There are a number of nearby lots that are available for parking on a first-come, first- serve basis, including Eastern Greenwich Civic Center, Old Greenwich Train Stations, Perrot Memorial Library and Old Greenwich School. There will be No Parking on the entire length of Binney Park Drive, from Wesskum Wood Road by the tennis courts to Arch Street near the railroad tunnel on the day of the fireworks. Parking for vehicles with handicap permits will be provided in Binney Park near the tennis courts and will be under the direction of Police Officers beginning at 4:30 p.m. Please show permit to the Police Officers for assistance.
  • NO Open Flame Candles, Sparklers, Chinese Fire Lanterns, Bomb Bags, Sky Lanterns, Snappers or any type of fireworks will be permitted in the Park. There is no cooking, grilling or open flame of any type allowed in Binney Park. No climbing trees.
  • Pets should not be brought to any Fireworks Display, as it is not safe for them. If pets must be brought, they must be leashed at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up.
  • Do not use heavy canvas tarps or heavy rocks as they damage the park lawns. Light beachtowels and chairs are fine. Please remember, the Park is for everyone’s use.
  • A Police Command Post will be set-up near the tennis courts. Lost parents and children may also go to the main stage near the flag pole. GEMS will also be located near the tennis courts.
  • There is no single land location from which the public can view both Town Fireworks displays.
  • The fireworks will be shot from the playing field area near the railroad tracks. This entire area will be fenced off starting Saturday Morning. No one, including walkers will be allowed inside this area. This is a safety regulation and will be enforced.
  • Tennis Courts will be closed, beginning at 12 noon on the day of display.
  • Restrooms will be available in the field house, but they will close at least 30 minutes before theshow. Portable facilities will be available all evening in various areas of the Park.
  • The Sound Beach Community Band will play before the show, starting around 8:00 p.m. They will be on the stage near the flag pole.
  • Binney Park will close immediately after the Fireworks Display. Please cooperate with the Police to provide a quick and orderly exit for all.

Greenwich Point Fireworks – 9:35 p.m.

  • Normal rules for access to Greenwich Point will be in effect. Valid Park Passes for 2019 will be required of residents all day and single entry pass and single entry parking passes will be required of non-seasonal pass holders until 5:00 p.m. After 5:00 p.m., non-seasonal pass holders will only need a single entry parking pass. Single entry Passes and single entry parking passes for non-seasonal pass holders may be purchased at Eastern Greenwich Civic Center or Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, Monday – Friday, (except Holidays) from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. only. Residents who have updated residency status for 2019 may purchase single entry tickets online. Tickets must be printed and presented at the gate. Please note that Greenwich Point will be closed once parking has reached its capacity or 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first. The Point will still be open to walkers, joggers and bicyclists under normal regulations.
  • It is important to remember that once the Parking has reached capacity and the Point is closed to vehicles, cars will not be permitted in or near Greenwich Point. This means you will not be able to drop-off or pick-up passengers before or after the event.
  • Parking in Greenwich Point will be under the direction of Police Officers. Parking for vehicles with handicap permits will be provided in the area near the South Concession Stand. Overflow parking will be directed to the Clambake Parking Area. Boaters will be assisted to the marina area, but you need to bear in mind that once parking is full, no vehicles will be admitted. Please be sure you have everything you need before coming to Greenwich Point.
  • NO Open Flame Candles, Sparklers, Chinese Fire Lanterns, Bomb Bags, Sky Lanterns, Snappers or any type of fireworks will be permitted in the Park. Cooking in Greenwich Point Park is allowed ONLY at Town Grills. (Sec. 7-26). NO glassware is allowed within 200 feet of the beach.
  • All spectators are strongly urged to bring a working flashlight with them. Bicycles should be equipped with lights and reflectors. Bikers may need to walk their bikes through the causeway. Police will establish a walkers/bikers lane on the causeway to exit the Point after the Show. Portable lighting will be in place at important locations throughout the Park.
  • A Police Command Post will be set-up near the main entrance gate. There will be an area for lost parents/children located at the GEMS field service unit near the South Concession Stand. We will be able to make announcements at the D.J. Stand also near the South Concession.
  • There is no single land location from which the public can view both Town Fireworks displays.
  • GEMS will be on site for first aid coverage. They will have an ambulance on site, have a command post near the South Concession and will have paramedics patrolling the grounds to assist the public.
  • The fireworks will be shot from the bluff area, past the South Concession Stand. Some of the area near the shooting spot will be restricted. People are welcome to walk the Point, but there will be a detour near the shooting area, which will go up to Founder’s Rock and will be enforced. You will not be permitted to walk near the shooting area on the day of the show. The view from anywhere in the Park, particularly on main beach and in the picnic area by the South Concession Stand will be outstanding. The Beach Concession will close at 9:20 p.m. and will not reopen. Restrooms, including temporary facilities will be available.
  • Greenwich Point Park will close immediately after the Fireworks Display. Please cooperate with the Police to provide a quick and orderly exit for all.
