Open Mic For Writers, Artists

open-mic

Greenwich Pen Women and The Friends of Cos Cob Library are cosponsoring an Open Mic night on Wednesday, June 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in the Community Room of the Cos Cob Library, 5 Sinawoy Rd.

Open Mic Night gives writers, artists and other creatives a chance to share their work and to hear the work of others. What can you do in five minutes? Read 500 words of flash fiction, present a two-page memoir (double-spaced), read a scene from a new play, share a poem, introduce a new blog, present a portion of a winning story. Artists and musicians can share the inspiration behind a painting or a photograph, perform a jazz riff, or improvise with creatives across disciplines. Each participant signs up onsite for a five-minute time slot, and the emcee manages the clock and calls up the speakers.

Come and share your voice and your work with an appreciative audience. Wine and cheese will be available. For more information, call 203-622-6883.
